Locy Variant t Examples

Variant t for Types 2, 3, and 7 Cancels

Type 2, 3, and 7 cancels with variant t have the ship’s name at the top of the dial instead of the bottom of the dial. Note that variant t does not apply to postmark types with the -1 or -2 variant (ie, Type 2-1, 9-2, etc). These variants have no standard for the location of the ship’s name.

The following cancel is classified as Type 2tnu

The following cancel is classified as Type 3ty (C-TTT) (“FLAG SHIP BASE FORCE.”) [A-42a]

The following cancel is classified as Type 7dit(3)

The following cancel is classified as Type 7

The above example is provided to show the normal placement of the ship’s name in the dial of a Type 7 cancel in comparison to the t variant.
