USCS Mentor Program

The USCS has a Mentor Program available to its members. This is a service provided to all members. If you need assistance as a beginner, intermediate, or advanced collector there are 20 mentors ready to help you. There are 16 current topics these volunteers are knowledgeable in. The topics include Sending for Naval Covers, several collecting specialties, Organization and Storage of your collection, Cachet Making, Exhibiting, Research, and Writing. Even if you need help in an area that is not listed, ask these mentors anyway, they can either help you or refer you to others who can. Refer to the Mentor Listing, which appears in the Log periodically, the list that was included in your membership package or refer your question to Steve Shay at shaymur@flash.net and your question will be forwarded to the appropriate mentor. The Mentor Program is a real benefit to Society members. Why go through the same learning process that others have gone through before? Ask for assistance and reduce the learning curve time and increase your knowledge. I only wish I had joined the Society years before I did so that I could have learned the mentor way and not the hard way! If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact Steve Shay at the e-mail address above.
